William Clarence and Sally Bowles Berry had three children. Sally died sometime between 1833 and 1835. Most likely Sally died at childbirth when their third child RosAnn Frances was born in 1833. In the book Wagons South Wagons West by Victor Glenn Berry it is stated that William Clarence Berry walked from Orange County North Carolina to Fayett County Alabama with his three small children. I doubt that This is true because people traveled in wagon trains for security and conveniance. I think it is more likely he traveled with Theodrick and Elizabeth Berry Franklin. TWO REASONS: William and Sally were living next door to Chesterfield Franklin in 1830 (Theodrick's father) and the Franklins had a daughter born in Orange County in 1832 and a son Henry Berry Franklin born in Alabama in 1835 wcbhome There were a lot of relatives living in Fayette County Alabama at that time and for many years to come. The information about the walk from North Carolina to Alabama comes from a book: (Wagons South, Wagons West by Victor Glenn Berry) who is a descendant of William Clarence Berry.
Willaim Clarence Berry married Massa Ann (Tompkins) in 1836. She is reported to be 1/4 American Indian
