ROBERT BERRY was born on August 2, 1812 in Orange County North Carolina was named for his grandfather Robert Berry who owned the Fiddleton Plantation. He was about sixteen years old when his father David J. Berry decided to remove the family to Georgia. Robert had two Uncles in Alabama and some Camp cousins in Georgia. David and his family apparently chose to settle near the Camp relatives. Robert was about twenty one years old when he married Eliza Everett on 16th of June 1833.
