Thomas Person Berry was born in Orange County North Carolina in 1807. Something happened to his Father and
Mothers marriage before 1810. Hannah Berry listed head of household in 1810 and was living next door to Robert Berry
her father in law.  Hannah inherited one fifth of her fathers property after her mother died in 1826. I think Hannah's
Mother lived on the Cates property until she died.  I do not know when Hannah moved from next door to Robert.
Hannah did have a daughter Elizabeth Berry who was born in 1812. This child's father was John Berry and we do not
know who John's parents were. Robert Berry had a son John and we do not know if this was him or not. We do not
know if John Berry was having an affair with Hannah and that was what happened to William and Hannah's marriage.
Robert's son John was dead in 1812 when his father wrote his will. Robert left a slave to John's heirs and only left
        one pound to William.
William Berry and (Thomas) Person Berry bought one hundred and three tenths acres of land from Henry Berry on
November 23rd 1830. There was a question about the relationship between Thomas Person Berry and William Berry.
Was William his brother, his father, or a cousin. After finding William Berry in the 1830 census listing his age between
20 and 30 I now think that William and Thomas Person Berry are brothers. Thomas Person Berrys oldest brother was
        born in 1799.

William and Person Berry sold the same tract of land to Samuel and Felix Wilson three years later in September 19th 1833.
Sixty two years later in 1895 Samuel Wilson's GG Granddaughter Ida Ann Wilson married Thomas Person Berry's
        grandson, Wiley P. Berry.

Thomas Person Berry married Sarah Lunsford who was the daughter of William and Edy Cozart Lunsford.  In 1832
Thomas Person Berry signed as bondsman for Elizabeth Berry his half sister and Theodric Franklin to be married.

Thomas and Sarah had four boys as far as I can find. There is a period of time between 1831 and 1836 when they
apparently had no children                                                                     using the Standard naming convention below
Their first son William H. Berry was born in 1836.-------------------------------- named after his fathers, father William Berry
Their second son Willie Berry was born in 1838.--------------------------named after his mothers, father William Lunsford
Their third son John Robert Berry was born on September 25th 1842.---------is this T.P. Berry's oldest brother?
Their fourth son James P. Berry was born in 1845.-----------named after his mothers oldest brother, James Lunsford
Some of this information on ages came from the 1850 Orange County Census

Sarah Lunsford Berry died on December 27, 1870 I do not know where I found this date.

On August 24th 1871 Thomas Person Berry married his second wife, Lucy A. Brown who was the daughter
          of Alfred and Martha Brown.
Thomas and Lucy Berry had five children:

Edna H. Berry born on June 1st, 1872
Martha Bowers Berry born June 27th, 1873
          Etta E. Berry born 1874
Della Thomas Berry born February 8th, 1877
          Daniel R. Berry born Dec 23rd, 1880

I think Lucy must have died around 1883 leaving five small children

Thomas Person Berry died on April 30th, 1884. I do not know where I got this date. It has not been verified. After

Thomas  died there was a suit entered by Martha Brown  who was the grandmother of the five orphans. The suit
went on for several years and the orphans eventually won a settlement.

There was another suit involving Thomas Hall and the third wife Elizabeth Peed Bowles about her dower and I
           don't know the result
of that suit.  I have about 150 documents concerning these two suits. I also have a microfilm
reel of these legal documents that I bought from the genealogical library in Raleigh. It was in these documents that I
found that Thomas Person Berry's plantation was named FIDDLETON.

john robert JOHN ROBERT BERRY, Thomas Person Berry's third son is my great grandfather. This page will be added
