MARY BERRY PAGE
Mary was the oldest child of Robert and Elizabeth Berry. The very first
documentation that I have found on
Mary is in some Court Minutes concerning the will of George Waggoner.
Robert Berry and Mary Waggoner
qualified as Executer and Executrix to his will. These minutes were
from the November Term 1781 Court Minutes
from Orange County North Carolina COURT MINUTES 1777-1786. BOOK 111.
The second information came
from the February Term 1782 Court Minutes of Orange County North
Carolina COURT MINUTES 1777-1786
BOOK 111. From these documents it is apparent that Mary had been
married to George Waggoner. Some time
between November 1781 and February 1782 Mary had married James Kemp
since she was listed in the February
Minutes as Mary Kemp. I have a copy of George Waggoners will. In
George's will he names his two daughters
Elizabeth and Ann and his dearly beloved wife Mary Waggoner. I do not
know if these girls were George's children
by a previous marriage of if they were His and Mary's girls. Mary seems
to have made some rather quick changes
in her life as she had already remarried three months after
George's will was proved in court.
I do not know when James and Mary Left Orange
County to go to Georgia. I think it was real soon after they
were married. Their first child was born in 1785. I have names of nine
children for James and Mary Kemp/Camp
I did not do the research on these names but have seen them many times
while researching our Robert Berry family.
