He was somewhere around 20 years old when he went to Alabama where he married Mary Howell around 1838
They had eleven children between 1839 and 1861

2. Sarah Berry was born on April 20 1839 in Alabama and died  June 5 1917 in Galveston Texas. She was married
    5  times Sarah had several children by some of the other husbands.
     1st Husband was Hiram Howard  who was  born in Henderson Tennessee in 1829 and died in Rusk County
            Texas 1857
      2nd Husband was Francis M. McClure was born in Kentucky around 1831 . They were married on January 5,
            1859 in Rusk County Texas He apparently died in 1862
       3rd Husband was Robert A. Taylor who was born in Virginia around 1814. They were married in Rusk
             County Texas on May 18, 1863
        4th Husband  was Henry B. Stoneman who was born in Grimes Texas. They were married in Rusk County Texas
              on Aug. 29, 1865
        5th Husband was Heinrich Dippold who was born in Bavaria. They were married on Feb 15, 1880 He died in
              Galveston Texas in1887.

2. Sanford C. Berry was born in Dallas Alabama around 1843, He married Hattie Hoult
2.  Thomas Berry  was born in Alabama around 1846
2. James Berry  was born around 1847 in Texas. He married Orlena Lee
2. Amanda F. Berry  was born around 1848 in Rusk County Texas. She married John Bascom Taylor July 14, 1865
    John was born in Missouri in 1842
2. Robert W. Berry 1852
2. Alexander Howard Berry 1854 - 1926 married Josephine Prescilla Gregory 1860 - 1930
2. Louisa J. Berry was born around 1855
2. Elizabeth Berry  was born around 1857
2. Emma Berry  was born in Texas around 1859
2. Frances Marion Berry  was born in Gredd Texas on Feb.23, 1861 H e  married Fannie Lilly Hudsbeth  about
    1890 in Oklahoma.     Fannie was born in June 1872. F.M. Berry died in Oklahoma on Jan 8. 1943
